This older, traditional landscape was thoroughly updated. Overgrown junipers, spirea with rock mulch, and large swaths of lawn were removed. An attractive, curving front walk now entices visitors to enjoy the shady entrance gardens. The backyard was re-graded so water flows into rain gardens, finally reaching the street-side raingarden filled with colorful, pollinator-friendly plants. With a blend of locally-grown, native plants and some cultivated favorites, there is amazing biodiversity for birds and wildlife. Plants were selected to dissuade deer browsing. Border oak and pine woodlands are in the process of being restored. Master plan design and project management were phased over 13 years.
